While fighting against Decepticon forces in São Paulo, Optimus Prime, Bumblebee and Ironhide witnessed a protoform crashing down nearby. Upon the Autobots recruiting the wayward Transformer to their cause, Starscream showed up and battled Optimus. As per Ratchet's instructions, the protoform departed the scene and returned to the city area, where it scanned a nearby car and adopted a vehicle mode. After meeting with Bumblebee and Ironhide, the group was attacked by the Decepticons, and the recruit fought alongside his new allies, taking out one of the Decepticon recruits.
