As a treat for doing well in training, the recruits are allowed to choose their favorite simulated rescue.
Synopsis
The recruits arrive at Hero Hall where Heatwave reveals that as a reward for all their work, they're going to be allowed to pick their own favorite rescue. He hands them a control unit and leaves. Hot Shot starts up a simulation involving a submarine that has broken down. Also there are sharks. Whirl takes the control unit from Hot Shot and switches to a rescue involving a meteor shower in a desert. The recruits set about trying to save the animals threatened by the meteors, though there's still complaining. Shortly before a meteor hits Wedge, Medix switches the simulation to a farm. While Medix sets about bandaging the farmer, who has crashed his truck into beehives, the other recruits find themselves being chased by swarms of bees. Hoist gains control of the simulation and switches them to one with a dragon, which the others point out they've already done this one and the dragon is friendly. Wedge decides that's his cue to pick his favorite rescue, digging out a crashed flying saucer on the planet Parvus.
The recruits continue to argue over whose rescue to do, leading to them struggling over the control unit and accidentally breaking it. They find themselves floating in a white void and realize they broke everything. Moments later it switches to Whirl's rescue, except the meteors are now submarines and there is a swarm of sharks chasing them. They try to contact Heatwave in vain, shortly before the sharks chase them off a cliff. Fortunately they land in a pile of straw in the farm simulation, however the dragon (now very hostile) and flying saucer are also there to menace them. Whirl fires off one of her rotors to provide a diversion so they can duck behind the farm house. After agreeing to work together next time, Hoist realizes they can repair the control unit if they do just that, so they combine the pieces they've been holding on to. This resets the sim back to normal in time for Heatwave to arrive, though he is puzzled by the dragon on the farm. The recruits hand the control unit back to their bewildered teacher and head off to watch movies.
