Reason: Inane question

Are we absolutely sure this isn't Beast Wars Quickstrike?

Yes. Escargon (talk) 11:12, 3 March 2021 (EST)
Bw Quickstrike literally died in the finale. It aint him. McBaggins (talk) 12:05, 3 March 2021 (EST)

What's in a name (reuse)? Or, a deeper look at a seemingly simple question.

The last time I put my thoughts down on the question once posed above, they were reverted rather quickly. Rather than be accused of "thread necromancy", I thought I would put my thoughts down as my own separate section of the talk page.

So, last year, some anon asked: Are we absolutely sure this isn't Beast Wars Quickstrike?

That got me pondering.

On the one hand, you've got your toy card bio for BMach Quickstrike. It says that he'll only work with Blackarachnia, though "there's no love lost between them". Which could be inferred as a reference to the tumultuous relationship that Blackarachnia had with BW Fuzor Quickstrike.

On the other hand, you've got the Mainframe cartoon continuity itself, in which BW Fuzor Quickstrike was blown apart pretty definitively in "Nemesis Part 2" and BMach Quickstrike never appeared at all.

(And on the gripping hand, you've got the so-called "Waspscream" continuity's version of Beast Machines, where Inferno lived, Scorponok became 2003 Universe Tankor, Silverbolt became Jetstorm then was reverted then died screaming, etc. etc. It seems almost certain that one would have become the other easily enough there.)

Sticking to the two main iterations here though, Alpha and Beta, so to speak: We have the toy bio, which only hints. And we have the show. And granted that the Beast Machines cartoon had an Allspark Portal right there as a core driver of plots, actually claiming that BW-Show-Quickstrike got his spark yanked out of the hereafter to become BMach-Toy-Quickstrike -- well, much as I may believe it to be so, I must admit that one would be engaging in a fair bit of fanon-welding to assert that as fact. Which is not what this wiki is about.

TL,DR: Is BW Quickstrike the same character as BMach Quickstrike? Maybe, if you want them to be, but TFWiki is best served by keeping them on seperate pages, pending some more definitive story reveal. --Banpei the Mini-Con (talk) 20:43, 4 February 2022 (EST)
