- Sergeant Recon is a human from the Dark of the Moon portion of the live-action film series continuity family.
Sergeant Travis Rearick, codenamed Recon, is a perfect partner for Roadbuster as his racing skills allow the Autobot to ease back, enjoy the ride and learn more about Earth's roads. The two are bonded so well that they rarely need to actually talk. Even in combat, a gesture or a touch of hand or foot lets Recon point out new targets to his large friend.

Travis Rearick grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana in the shadow of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. He always wanted to be a racecar driver but could not figure out how to make a career of it. He attended automotive mechanics school and then enlisted, catching the attention of his Army superiors with his extraordinary 20/05 vision. Rearick was tapped for reconnaissance, proving excellent at it. Upon the formation of NEST, his CO only reluctantly allowed him to transfer to NEST.
