Autobot Military Academy cadets Subsea and Tailgate were persuaded by Flattop to undergo a rite of passage in Cybertron's treacherous Underworld. Once there, they found it populated by violent, malformed mutants. Subsea went into a gibbering panic, and was blasted into oblivion by Warhead. Underworld!

Subsea traveled with Cliffjumper and Rest-Q to Velocitron to investigate the disruption in the communication network. He was soon killed, along with the rest of the planet by Unicron. Unstopped and Unstoppable

A member of the Senate Guard, Subsea was a worrywart by nature, so much so that his worries could get in the way of living his life. To cope with this, Groove suggested that he set aside some time every cycle to worry to allow him to get through the rest of the cycle more easily. Sea of Rust II
Prior to the Decepticon takeover of Iacon, Ironhide assigned the acrophobic Subsea to the roof of the Senate to stand guard during Sentinel Prime's speech. As he grumbled about this, he was attacked by the Rainmakers and sent tumbling down into the main Senate chamber after Acid Storm collapsed the roof. We Have Deceived You Captured with some his fellow Guardsmen, Subsea was thrown into a lower priority cell below the Senate hall, where they commiserated about their potential fates. Ironhide and the rest of the Guard eventually sprung them, and Subsea was among those who volunteered to help get the other senators out of the building to safety. Prime
Subsea was present to welcome Javelin to the Senate Guard, and accompanied Optimus Prime to the Forge Pyramid for a chat with Perceptor. He participated in the defense and evacuation of the Pyramid when the Decepticons attacked. Titans
When Optimus Prime went to meet with Termagax, Subsea was part of the detachment who accompanied him and set up a defensive position in front of House. He talked with Groundbreaker about his chronic worrying just before the Decepticons arrived in force and launched an attack. Subsea was among the Autobots ready to defend Crystal City when the Decepticons attacked it. A Dust of Crystals After a temporary ceasefire had been negotiated, the Autobots marched to Cybertron.
