Rumble is a heroic Decepticon Mini-Cassette from the Shattered Glass continuity family.
"Feed him to the Sharkt—er, I mean, throw him into the smelting pool!"

Rumble is one of Soundwave's heroic Decepticon Mini-Cassettes, until he got himself caught by Autobots.

Fiction

Fun Publications Shattered Glass continuity

When Cliffjumper met Optimus Prime, the maniacal Autobot commander gave him the dubious honor of executing Rumble, as his mirror-universe incarnation had taken great pleasure in torturing prisoners. Cliffjumper refused, so Optimus blew several holes through him; Rumble's ultimate fate was never shown. Shattered Glass

Later on Earth, Goldbug battled Frenzy, having trouble telling him and his brother apart. Goldbug muttered that he should have finished Frenzy/Rumble/whoever when he had a chance earlier. Eye in the Sky

Recordicons

Ravage lent Rumble money before the latter's untimely demise in the smelting pool. At some point, Ravage went back in time and warned himself not to lend Rumble money, but he'd arrived in a time period after Rumble's death. Recordicons #7 When the Decepticons were thrown into the same smelting pool into which Rumble had been cast, Frenzy discovered that Rumble had somehow survived all this time as a head. IDW Shattered Glass comic

Rumble was present for the war's final battle on Earth, evacuating back to Cybertron alongside Frenzy and the other surviving Decepticons. Shattered Glass issue 2

Notes

  • In his debut appearance from Fun Publications, Rumble may or may not be in Rewind's colors. The lighting makes it hard to tell.
  • In any event, this was picked up by IDW Publishing, where he clearly has that coloration on the Siege toy body.
