Fiction

Mazinger Z vs. Transformers

Baron Ashura commanded Dian D0 against Kōji Kabuto in Mazinger Z. Despite the Mechanical Beast blasting a wing of the Jet Scrander in half and even damaging one of Mazinger's chest plates, Kōji's quick thinking allows him to destroy it. They were buried in the rubble of the destroyed Dian D0, then dug out by the recenty arrived Autobots. After the Autobots explain that they were teleported there from another universe, Ashura decided to take advantage of their ignorance.

At the underwater fortress Salude, Baron Ashura weaved a tale of deception to the Autobots, claiming that Mazinger Z was an evil machine who rules Japan with an iron fist through its monopoly of photon power. Baron Ashura's leader, Doctor Hell, chimed in through a viewscreen, supporting Ashura's lies and passed off his frightful appearance as the result of adopting demonic power to fight Mazinger Z. He went on to elaborate on Mazinger Z's abilities and also spoke of Aphrodite A, another robot allied with Mazinger Z. The Autobots remarked on their similarity to their enemies, the Decepticons, and Optimus Prime explained them to Doctor Hell, who got a twinkle in his eye.
