The Shattering (also known as the Great Shattering) was an event early in the Stentarian civil war, one that precipitated the formation of the Galactic Council.

When explaining the Galactic Council and its history to Tailgate, Ultra Magnus mentioned the Shattering. Primus: You, Me, and Other Revelations When Whirl and Skids engaged in a one-upsmanship contest with a group of Ammonites on Hedonia, 16444/9 brought up the Shattering and its fallout in response to the Cybertronians being blacklisted from the Council.
