[edit]Transformers in Action: WE ARE ONLY STRONG AS A TEAM
[edit]Optimus Prime is holding a meeting for his Autobots, during which he breaks down the various Autobot teams and their Decepticon counterparts to help his troops quickly identify friends and opponents during battle.
Following a lengthy presentation, a distress call alerts Optimus to the fact that Cloudburst and Waverider, who were escorting a convoy of tanker trucks to San Franciso, have been ambushed by the Decepticons. Realizing that backup will never make it there in time, Optimus Prime orders the two to abort the mission, as he doesn't want to risk the lives of any of his soldiers for a few trucks of oil.
Back at the Ark, Optimus scolds them for their unprofessional behavior, and just as Cloudburst promises to not make the same mistake again, Optimus presents another scene that had happened a while ago: Windsweeper, pursued by Decepticons Doubleheader, Pincher and Bludgeon, performed evasive maneuvers but ended up crashing into a wall. Ruckus tried to rescue him, but froze up, so the two then had to be rescued by the Off Road Patrol and the Rescue Patrol.
Optimus continues to drive home the point that teamwork is of the essence in critical situations, even though Longtooth insists that in such a situation, his priority is survival. When a member of the Rescue Patrol and Cloudburst suggest developing strategies during training so they get to know the strengths and weaknesses of their teammates, Optimus takes his Autobots to a remote desert, where they conduct said training. However, Optimus is still unsure what will happen if the Decepticons intensify their operations. (source)

[edit]- The first part of this story (namely, the lengthy
list of toys available at the timemeeting) is largely recycled verbatim from Comic-Magazin #12. Even the numerous errors and the strange terminology remain unchained. See Comic Magazin #12 for more details. The second part, meanwhile, isn't recycled from a Transformers story, but from another toy franchise, M.A.S.K., for which Condor (aka "Interpart") also held the comic book license at the time. The story was originally published in M.A.S.K. Comic-Magazin #14. - So the Decepticons supposedly have stronger weapons than the Autobots by default? Is this another one of these "strength is a sign of superiority, therefore we deliberately choose to be weaker than our enemies" philosophies like that flying alternate mode apartheid? And how is that supposed to help in battle? How are the Autobots supposed to pay attention to the energy concentration of weapons? "If the blast that hits you didn't kill you, you can tell it was friendly fire" or what?
- The Autobot/Decepticon ID is transmitted? Does that mean the faction insignias are holograms? And is that supposed to imply that all the various animation errors in the cartoon that depicted Decepticons with Autobot insignias were actually instances of deliberate deception?
- And seriously... how dense are the Autobots that after all these briefings, they still cannot tell their comrades the've been working with for all this time apart from the enemy?
Errors
[edit]- The introduction to this issue implies that "Powermaster" Optimus Prime has been assaulted by the Decepticons but might actually be lost on Cybertron, referring to the Marvel UK storyarc that began with "Prey!" and was reprinted in Condor's Transformers Comic-Magazin beginning with issue 7. However, Optimus's return to Earth, featured in the UK story "Resurrection!", was reprinted in Comic-Magazin #10, which came out more than half a year before this issue. Worse, Optimus Prime's actual death, featured in the Marvel US story "Afterdeath!", was reprinted in Transformers Comic-Taschenbuch #2. Did whoever wrote this introduction not read the content of the previous issue of the very same series?
