Description

This citation template allows you to cite social media posts.

Usage

Parameters

This template has nine parameters:

  • quote=The text of the comment
  • link=The URL of the comment.
  • name=The name/username of the person that made the comment.
  • site=The name of the website on which the comment was made.
  • title=The title of the post, episode, article, or other work in which the comment appears.
  • year=The year the comment was made. Dates are given in YYYY/MM/DD format.
  • month=The two digit numeric value of the month (i.e. 01 for January, 02 for February, etc.) the comment was made.
  • day=The two digit day the comment was made.
  • defunct=A flag which can be set to mark the link as being dead, without any archive available.

If the link points to a Wayback Machine backup on Archive.org or an Archive.is backup, an "(archive link)" marker will be automatically appended.

Not all of these parameters must be present for the template to function, but it is strongly recommended to give every piece of information that applies.
