Ron Friedman is an American television writer.

Friedman was originally hired to write the screenplay for The Transformers: The Movie, but the original script he turned in was judged "incoherent" by writer/story editor Flint Dille and creative director Jay Bacal. Dille eventually spearheaded an effort to rewrite the script (with help from, among others, an uncredited Frank Miller), although many of the concepts originally envisioned by Friedman remained in the final draft.[1]

Friedman was ultimately given the film's sole writer credit, with Dille credited as a "Creative Consultant".
