The identity of the Transformers' abductor is revealed, as is his time-bending plan for his captives.

Synopsis

[edit]

Once again, the disembodied voice rings out, complimenting Scrapheap on his use of the word "treasures" to describe the captive Rodimus Prime, Galvatron, Cyclonus and Scourge. Shocked that the voice knows him by name, Scrapheap demands to know the identity of the speaker, and the voice freely complies, identifying itself as the "Seeker", an explorer of the universe who long ago cast off his physical body and became as one with the knowledge he amassed from every corner of creation and stored within his crystalline vessel. Transformers, the Seeker explains, are an example of a very rare breed of life in the universe, and the four captives are rarer still, having achieved personal evolution at an accelerated rate. In order to study the incredible metamorphoses the quartet went through, the Seeker uses the powers at his command to wind back time, reverting all four to the very moment of their transformations, intending to freeze them in these states of flux and study their recreation eternally. Rodimus shimmers with the blue light of the Matrix of Leadership as he is returned to the moment that he, as Hot Rod, opened it and became Prime, while the three Decepticons are wound back to the instant of their recreation at the hands of Unicron.

Kup responds to all of this by attempting to blast Rodimus's capsule open, but the Seeker retaliates with a hail of bullets made from pure light that spray from the ceiling, striking Kup and causing his body to instantly begin corroding. Scrapheap tries to help Kup, who bravely struggles against the scourge racking his body, while the Seeker rants on, attempting to appeal to the Junkion's love of the unique and beautiful. And in truth, Scrapheap cannot deny the singular beauty of creation that the Seeker has brought about... but what shines even brighter, the true treasure hidden in his metaphorical scrapheap, is the noble soul of the wounded warrior at his feet! Before the Seeker can react, Scrapheap swings his fist at Rodimus Prime's capsule...

Notes

[edit]
  • The Macrocosmic Seekers storyline was released as promotion for two e-HOBBY-exclusive United redeco sets, which rendered Rodimus in translucent blue, gave Kup a weathered paint job, and cast the three Decepticons in translucent purple. This story chapter provides the in-universe explanation for their appearances; subsequent chapters will highlight that the characters' physical shapes are also different now as well, reconciling the characters' cartoon appearances with the different-looking toys (as this story is set in cartoon continuity).
