Galvatron builds a wacky killer spaceship that eats other spaceships and steals their energy!
Synopsis
[edit]In the far-flung future of 2010, the Autobots receive an SOS from an Earth space shuttle. When they arrive, they find it under attack from some bizarre killer spaceship with a giant mouth that eats other spaceships and steals their energy. It doesn't take Rodimus Prime long to figure out that the Decepticons are behind this and the Autobots roll-out to battle.
Approaching the killer spaceship, Springer attempts to cut it open with his laser, only to find his weapon isn't powerful enough. Rodimus then orders the Autobots to combine their laserfire. They do so and manage to blast open a hole in the side of the ship.
After freeing the Earth space shuttle and all the humans inside, Rodimus orders the other Autobots to exit the killer spaceship while he plants a bomb to destroy it.

As Rodimus heads off on his own a door slams shut behind him and he finds himself cornered by Galvatron and his Decepticon minions. Galvatron promptly blasts Rodimus, injuring him badly. As Rodimus lays dying, he receives a vision from the ghost of Optimus Prime, telling him to get up off his fanny and stop whining.
Rodimus springs into action and enrages Galvatron, who proceeds to charge his "SF Gun" to full power. Galvatron fires and misses, blasting a hole in the side of the killer spaceship. Rodimus transforms to vehicle mode and drives out into space. As he leaves, however, he deposits a little "gift" for Cyclonus. Cyclonus can't figure out what it is until it explodes in his face and destroys the killer spaceship.
Outside, the Autobots and the humans celebrate their victory.

Notes
[edit]
- This issue takes place some time after "Five Faces of Darkness, Part 5".
- Although Ultra Magnus is shown among the Autobots when Rodimus Prime orders them to roll-out, he does not help attack the killer spaceship. Instead, Wheelie can be seen in the background for one panel in his place.
- Both Rodimus Prime and Galvatron crudely refer to each other as "New insert title of authority". With this story taking place in 2010, though, both have been leaders of their factions for five years, which doesn't seem so "new". However, if you consider that Transformers live for millions of years, then it's possible that five could be considered "new" by their standards.
- This is the only issue of The Transformers in which Ban Magami draws Rodimus Prime with his distinguishing facial features (or "wrinkles" as some fans call them). In all future issues, Rodimus Prime will be drawn with Hot Rod's smoother, more youthful countenance.
- A Sharkticon is shown among Galvatron's forces, despite the fact that they are allies of the Quintessons, not the Decepticons. Could it be Gnaw, perhaps?
- Everybody makes fun of Cyclonus for having "bunny ears", but in this issue they actually do flop to the side just like a rabbit. Dawwwwwwww!
