Waspinator was a member of the Darksyde's crew under Megatron. They were battling the Axalon when both ships were pulled through an unexpected dimensional rift and crash-landed on prehistoric Earth. Waspinator and the others disembarked to find Depth Charge outside. Shattered Destiny

By the end of the Beast Wars, Waspinator and Depth Charge were left behind on ancient Earth after their comrades departed. Left traveling alone together, they spent thousands of years attempting to reach home. In the 21st century, their path crossed Heatwave and his friends in the depths of space. After learning of current affairs, Waspinator decided to offer his services to Starscream as a speechwriter before the unveiling of Decepticon City on Earth. Coalescence

Timelines

[edit]
  • Waruder Marauders (BotCon 2015)
    • Accessories: stinger/gun
Timelines Mudfighter was repurposed (pre-purposed?) as Shattered Glass Waspinator.
Timelines Mudfighter is a yellow, black, orange, and green redeco of the Generations Deluxe Class Waspinator sculpt, based on the Fox Kids Transmetal Waspinator toy. He retains the original toy's wing-beating gimmick.
Mudfighter and Thrasher were available in a four-pack at BotCon 2015 that included the three other Waruder mechs (Paralyzer, Parasite, and Storm Rider) as well as the three Waruder pilots (Buzzer, Ripper, and Crusher). He can wield any of the four Waruder pilots in their weapon modes, but is nominally associated with the Thrasher toy.

Notes

[edit]
  • Shattered Glass Waspinator's design is based on Waspinator's Thrilling 30 Generations toy, colored like Fox Kids Transmetal Waspinator. Less than two years after his debut, Fun Publications would produce a toy to these specifications, albeit marketed as a Diaclone Waruder Mudfighter, rather than Shattered Glass Waspinator himself. Later on, a plan was conceived to produce new heads, based on the original Waspinator toy's non-mutant robot head, that could be included with the Transformers Collectors' Club's remaining unsold stock of the Waruder Marauders, allowing them to be sold as different characters. The Mudfighter toy was apparently planned to be marketed as a dual-purpose Shattered Glass Waspinator (using the mutant head) and Beast Wars Buzz Saw (using the new robot head).[1][2] While the plans fell through, the Club eventually published the bios that had been produced for the initiative—including one for Shattered Glass Waspinator—on Twitter on its last day of operation, officially repurposing the figure.[3]
