Swerve, if he exists, will be an Autobot in the Universe continuity family

"A mystery wrapped in a riddle inside an enigma, blindfolded" would be a charitable way to describe Swerve. He transforms into a Chevrolet Aveo. Since it is not in the live-action movie toyline, any relationship it may have to Aveo and Sphinx should be totally coincidental.

 Japanese ID number:

The Swerve toy surfaced on Asian auction websites in August 2007. Samples were packaged in polybags that had English text printed on them, and came with English-language instruction manuals. All "final" samples were the same orange color; one specimen appeared to be yellow, but in fact had been handpainted.

Early reports throughout the fandom, tepidly verified by Hasbro sources, was that the mold's creation had been commissioned by Chevrolet for that company's exclusive use. Some claimed the figure would only be made available upon test-driving a Chevy Aveo at dealerships in China, but this has never been verified.

There have been no subsequent sightings of Swerve; no possible slots it could fill in publicly-disclosed shipping assortments; no evidence to rank it as a convention or fan club exclusive; and no sign that either a toy release or further information will ever be forthcoming. The instruction manuals did not even list assortment or DPCI numbers, which is totally unprecedented. Most of what has gone on with Swerve is totally unprecedented.

We knew Chevy had gotten close with Hasbro, but, damn.
