Korean War
The Korean War was a conflict on Earth between the nations of North Korea and South Korea from 1950 to 1953. Leading up to the war, during the period following World War II, tensions had risen between the totalitarian North Korea, backed by the Soviet Union and China, and its southern neighbor, who was supported by the United States and other democratic allies. It was the first major proxy war of the Cold War that took place between the major powers during the latter half of the 20th Century.
Open hostilities began on 25 June 1950 when the North Korean army pushed south across the two nations' common border, and ended just over three years later on 27 July 1953 with the signing of the Korean Armistice Agreement.

At some point during the Korean War, Sergeant "Sparkplug" Witwicky of the United States Marine Corps was taken prisoner by North Korea's Korean People's Army (KPA), who put him to work repairing their equipment. But unbeknownst to his captors, he sabotaged the equipment they had forced him to work on, causing the the North Koreans to suffer losses due to his handiwork. Years later, when he was taken captive by Megatron and forced to create a system where the Decepticons could convert regular gasoline into Transformer fuel, he recalled his time as a POW and took similar measures, sabotaging the Decepticons by poisoning their fuel.
