Vietnam War
The Vietnam War (the second of the Indochina Wars) was a conflict on Earth that took place between 1955 and 1975. Ostensibly a war between the separated Vietnamese nations of North Vietnam and South Vietnam, the neighboring countries of Laos and Cambodia were also involved. Like the earlier Korean War, it was a proxy war of the mid-20th Century Cold War, with the North supported by the Soviet Union, China, and other communist states, while the South was backed by the United States and other anti-communist allies.
Hostilities started on November 1 of 1955 and lasted until to the fall of Saigon on April 30 1975.
