The War Within toyline is spread across two umbrella franchises, Titanium Series and the 2008 Universe. Under the former, War Within toys are denoted with a "War Within" sub-label on the packaging. Likewise, the Universe toys are given a "War Within Series" mark.

This two-pack was exclusive to Target in the US, Zellers in Canada, and Toys"R"US in Australia. In the initial run, the comic was accidentally swapped with the "Target: 2006" issue intended for a different two-pack.

Honourable mentions
[edit]- Energon Inferno's vehicle mode was designed to resemble Ironhide's as seen in The War Within.
- The Cybertron version of Starscream was based on the War Within design for Starscream. It received three dedicated molds and spawned its own squadron of redecoes.
- The vehicle mode of Cybertron character Brakedown was designed in homage to that of the War Within version of fellow old timer Kup. The later redeco "Brakedown GTS" would bring the homage full circle.
