Potential Reboot?

According to this article, Katherine Buckland is announcing that the 2019 film will feature a new storyline. But we didn't have any confirmation about the movie being a Generation 1 reboot. FigureGunplaFan (talk) 13:38, 23 September 2017 (EDT)

Continuity Notes (Prequel v. Reboot)

“Promotion for the film has delivered a lot of fuzzy statements and mixed-messaging, but the film has been referred to (quite adamantly, on the part of producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura) as a prequel to the 2007 film several times.” Shouldn’t it also be noted that the director, Steven Caple Jr., explicitly referred to the film as a reboot during an interview?
