The Covenant of Primus
The Age of Primes came about following the Thirteen's defeat of Unicron defeat and saw the creations of the Artifacts of the Primes. Infected by a touch of Unicron's darkness however, the Primes began to turn paranoid and distrustful, feelings that were fermented by the subtle manipulations of Liege Maximo. Tensions began to rise when it was revealed that Maximo, along with Megatronus and Quintus Prime, had constructed a "Farm" of mechanical beasts, with the larger of them being pitted against one another in combat. After Maximo was ordered to cease his experiments, he asked Megatronus to claim a requested suit of armor from Solus Prime, an act which led to the female Prime's demise and the creation of the Well of All Sparks. When the Primes confronted Maximo, his attempts to blame Megatronus resulted in a free for all that saw the group dissolve and end the Age of Primes. The Covenant of Primus

Following the departure of the Knights of Cybertron, Primus: You, Me, and Other Revelations Cybertronian society devolved into a barbaric, feudal society, ruled by various warlords and Primes. Origin Myths It was to this era that the Decepticon scientist Shockwave found himself hurled back to following the destruction of his chronal drive. Wandering the deserts of Cybertron for years, he eventually came across the shepherd Onyx. Recognizing the shepherd's place in history, Shockwave slew him and fashioned his remains into a suit of armor that allowed the Decepticon to become "Onyx Prime", naming one of Onyx's pupils as "Megatronus". Fashioning his proxy into a warlord, Shockwave sent him on a series of campaigns to strike fear into the burgeoning alliance of Primes at Crystal City. By having Megatronus stage a false flag operation, Shockwave was able to have the Thirteen unite, starting the Age of Primes. Origin Myths Later convincing Prima to embark on a disastrous mission to Antilla, Shockwave planted the seeds of the Primes' fall, The First Who Was Named resulting in the First Cybertronian Civil War that saw the Age of Primes end. Long ago, the Thirteen Primes ruled Cybertron before they were sundered and their time ended. Following the end of their age, their artifacts, save the Matrix of Leadership, were lost. Prime The Age of Primes was succeeded by the Age of the Firstforged. End of Time
