Go!

[edit]
  • Ex (Promotional Arms Micron, 2013)
A redeco of Giza, Ex transforms from a robotic saw shark into something resembling Optimus Prime's blade weapon. As part of the Arms Micron gimmick, Ex features numerous 5mm peg pegs and a single peg-hole, allowing him to combine with other Microns to form bigger and more ridiculous "Combo Weapons" and "Super Combo Weapons". He is specifically meant to combine, however, with Sen, Geki, Shou, and Go to form the Gojōgōdenjin great sword, the Gojōgekidohō cannon, the Gojōharyūtsui hammer, and the Yonjōnagamitsu nagamitsu.
Ex comes out of the package as a bunch of unpainted parts on runners, like a model kit. Unlike the Arms Microns from the Japanese Prime toyline, he has a tampographed Autobot symbol on his Energon crystal, rather than a sticker beneath it.
Ex was only available as a promotional freebie with the purchase of more than 3000 yen worth of Transformers: Go! toys at most Toys"R"Us stores starting on November 16th.

Notes

[edit]
  • While it's not made explicit that Ex is designed to go with Optimus Exprime, we can infer that fact from his color (red, a color prominently used on many Optimus Primes), name ("Ex", from "Optimus Exprime"), and the fact that other Autobot Arms Microns from Transformers: Prime had names based off their primary users. Plus, Ex uses a mold based on one of Optimus's weapons.
  • If you are wondering, the character name "Ex" is not quite the same as the Japanese rendition of the English letter X. "Ex" is abbreviated from "express" (エクスプレス ekusupresu) while the letter name contains a doubled consonant (エックス ekkusu).
