Transformers: Reactivate is an upcoming online multiplayer game developed by Splash Damage.

It was announced on December 8, 2022 at The Game Awards via a teaser trailer that doesn't tell us a whole lot about the play style. A closed beta is planned to happen soon. Like some of the previous games, Reactivate will also utilize microtransactions for in-game purchases.

Plot

"We can rebuild him."

Per the official site, "The gravest threat to humanity has arrived. And it's already won. Earth is no longer ours; it belongs to them. All we have left is our hope for the Autobots, as we salvage them from the rubble left behind."

Social media pages for the game tell fans to "fight back against the Legion", indicating the name of the game's alien occupiers.

Notes

  • Transformers: Reactivate was previously known as Transformers: Rise while being developed by Certain Affinity. The packaging for a couple toys based on the game's designs still used this name at time of reveal, even almost a year after the game was announced under the current title.
  • The teaser trailer featured a song cover] of [[wikipedia:{{#if:|:}}Bon Jovi|{{#if:||Bon Jovi}}]]'s "[[wikipedia:{{#if:|:}}Wanted Dead or Alive (Bon Jovi song)|{{#if:Wanted Dead or Alive|Wanted Dead or Alive|Wanted Dead or Alive (Bon Jovi song)}}]]", performed by Empara Mi and dreamchild.
  • The game's cover art features the head of the Statue of Liberty with the text "ARE ALL DEAD?" scratched into it.
  • Following the game's announcement in December 2022, there was little to no further information until a year later, when it was announced on social media that the game would now be developed in Unreal Engine 5.
  • Despite a continuing lack of gameplay video or release date, the first toys for the game were released in "Reactivate" branded packaging via Hasbro Pulse in December 2023.
