Refraktor makes his move for Focus One.
Synopsis
[edit]Inside a government facility in Europe is a mysterious EOS R5 camera kept under lock. One EOS R5, codenamed Focus One, possesses the energy of the AllSpark and is being sought after by many defense and security agencies around the world and even one Decepticon in particular: Refraktor. Turns out Refraktor is the camera kept under lock and he effortlessly breaks through the defenses while transforming into his gigantic robot mode. After paralyzing the surrounding humans with his stun ray, Refraktor hacks into the facility's computers to steal records of the investigation regarding Focus One, in an effort to see how many factions are searching for the camera. Noting that, at least, one is destroyed, he takes out the Quantum Dial and disappears in a blink, but not before leaving a souvenir—a special electromagnetic pulse bomb.
This series of events started when Refraktor got his hands on the Quantum Dial. Originally, this dimensional transfer device belonged to an Autobot, but was on loan to the Earth Defense Command's research division. Exploiting a flaw in their defenses, Refraktor stole the device from their facility. In the course of testing it out, the Decepticon encountered the AllSpark on the Cybertron of another universe; seeking to take it for his master, Megatron, Refraktor took it. Unfortunately for him, the existence of the AllSpark was quickly picked up by the Autobots in his native universe, and the ensuing struggle resulted in the AllSpark being hit by stray gunfire. The resulting explosion transferred the divine artifact's power into a EOS R5 camera (carried by a nearby human bystander) that would soon be known as Focus One. The process also transformed Refraktor's alternate mode into that of a EOS R5 as well. Realizing the potential of a sacred treasure, Megatron ordered Refraktor to hunt down the AllSpark's power at all costs. Good thing Refraktor's new mode makes that convenient.
Refraktor is now at a military airfield in South America, where he knows a delivery of valuables by the authorities is supposed to take place. Suspecting the cargo is Focus One due to an energy reaction at the energon base, Refraktor gets tossed into the air by a friend and transforms into robot mode to drop down to the camera and pilfer it. To his surprise, the camera turns out to be Optimus Prime! The Autobot leader demands the Decepticon return the Quantum Dial, as the ancient creation of Mellonicus is far beyond Refraktor's comprehension regardless of his constant abuse of it as an escape route. As reinforcements for both forces appear, Refraktor activates the Quantum Dial and uses the much smaller volume of his camera mode to get out of Prime's grasp and disappear into a dimensional hole. Optimus orders a retreat, knowing he'll have a lot more trouble with Refraktor in the future.
