- Airwave is a member of G.I. Joe from the Generation 1 continuity family.
Master Sergeant Cliff V. Mewett, better known as the G. I. Joe operative Airwave, is a Signal Corps member and communications specialist. Airwave can coax a signal out of any piece of equipment, no matter how damaged. And as a member of the Sky Patrol sub-team, he is trained to operate a wide variety of military aircraft, watercraft, and ground combat vehicles.

[edit]Airwave was among the Joes deployed to Cybertron, where they were stranded when Earth was seemingly destroyed in a collision between the two planets. He tried to contact the Autobots on Perceptor's behalf, but found all frequencies messed up by the space dust covering the planet. Earth: R.I.P.
