Okay, Beast Wars Neo #34 (here - [1] - at around 5:20 on) specifically refers to Big Convoy's Matrix as an Energon Matrix, whereas the assorted info guides and toy instructions did not, so I guess that note needs to change. (And... I think he uses it to make his recruits into full-fledged Maximals? I'm less sure on this part.)
