Latin reference

"Malleus Minotaurus" is a generically-structured Latin name. There's nothing to indicate it's based on "Malleus Maleficarum" beyond the second word also starting with 'M' and this character has shown no relation whatsoever with witchcraft. Ratchet works as a double pun because Ratched is a nurse and ratchets are used for mechanical repair (along with it being confirmed by pre-production documents). This doesn't. It is impossible to believe that an alliterative, Latin-styled, "Malleus Msomethingsomething" name is not meant to allude to the only other well-known example of such a name construction ever. It is not a name style that someone in this day and age would invent without having heard of the real historical literary example first. If there were a TF concept called the Techronomicon, we wouldn't need to wait for an Instagram post confirming it, we could just say the name was inspired by the well-known pre-existing literary concept. --Thylacine 2000 (talk) 14:49, 29 February 2024 (EST)
