Talk:Along Came a Spider
From MediaWiki
"The clicking noise that the giant organic spiders make sounds somewhat like the clicking noises of the Predator aliens from the Predator movies, which was created by none other than Peter Cullen, voice of G1 Optimus Prime."
Not every element of every Transformers story is a circuitous fanwank/homage (or "fromage"). Can we all admit to ourselves that it's just a coincidence that both Peter Cullen and cartoon spiders have made clicking sounds? -Rotty 22:18, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
- If Peter Cullen didn't make the Preds' clicking sounds, I might agree with you, but since he did, it DOES relate to Transformers (in a roundabout way, but still!). Also, Spiderman did show up in one Marvel TF comic, so that reference should stay as well. Stop being a spoilsport, Rotty, and put them back in! --Nightshade83 22:30, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
- Considering that, according to Cullen himself, he got the noise from the sound sunbaked horseshoe crabs make, he didn't create it either. And this is the kind of thing that leads to misinformation being spread, and overreaching fan-speculation being touted as fact. "Insectoid-things make clicking noises" is beyond generic. I say we leave them both out. --M Sipher 23:52, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
