Merge with Bluebolt?

Hey, Saix.

° I didn't notice that in the product copy. It's been wrong before, though, especially in recent years. Silverstreak, he/him Burn Out, etc. The streams are good for identifying designer intent, and in the presence of conflicting information it's possible to weigh these things up case by case. ° The way this character breaks apart is explicitly not what Battle Masters are, but IS what Weaponisers are. ° Weaponizer also matches Bluebolt, the Maximal from later in JG1 who inexplicably introduced herself as a Weaponizer, who was apparently named for the Car Robots name for this weapon (Bluebolt).

The stated gender doesn't match, but we can sumrise now that that story decision was made with advance knowledge of this product, given that they share the same facial sculpt (which has been used to combine characters as seen in toy under lesser pretense). I'd therefore advocate for a merger, but don't edit the wiki enough to know how to do so.

So hey there have been big developments in this case! Please see the Notes sections here and at bird Bluebolt to see the deluge of behind-the-scenes conceptual overlap we just learned about. --AzimuthAcolyte (talk) 01:44, 13 March 2024 (EDT)

I think that at this point, with the revelation that the Bluebolt weapon was part of Sakamoto's concept process for the character and that elements of that were retained in the finished bio ("universal/multipurpose weaponizer"), we should probably just merge the two pages. While they're a more tenuous link, the fact that most of the detailing on Autobot Bluebolts not taken from the original weapon seems to correlate to Selects Skywarp (faceplate and forehead "beak", diagonal lines on the chest, the thigh detailing) reinforces, for me, that Bluebolt was in some way part of the design process for Bluebolts. --Broadside (talk) 13:08, 13 March 2024 (EDT)

A finalized-ish mock-up of a combined page can now be found here, courtey of McBaggins, Saix and myself. --AzimuthAcolyte (talk) 16:46, 13 March 2024 (EDT)

While I agree the bird and the gun being the same character was most likely Sakamoto's intention, that is not what any official licensed media says. The opening paragraphs of this article very confidential state that, "In at least one far flung future, Bluebolt evolved into a Maximal "Universal Weaponizer"" citing a source that in fact, does not say what the article is claiming. Authorial intent is pseudocanon at best, leave it in the footnotes. Arren (talk) 23:56, 17 March 2024 (EDT)
