Synopsis

[edit]

One autumn day, Optimus Prime and Bumblebee take a walk in the woods, only to encounter Megatron! Despite their usual enmity, however, Megatron tells the pair that today's his day off; when Optimus suggests camping together the Decepticon leader refuses. Instead, the two sides agree to a fishing contest... and, as the fish start to pile up, Bumblebee hits on the idea of using Long Haul to store their catches. When Bumblebee blows a whistle and ends the contest, Megatron demands to know who's won... only for the two leaders to sheepishly realize that they never actually laid out any rules. Nevertheless, the four Transformers (and a nearby bear) settle down to enjoy an evening campfire and some freshly cooked fish.

Notes

[edit]
How do you do, fellow G1 characters?
  • This comic was published in the October/November 2021 issue of TV Magazine and advertised the exclusive "Powerful Long Haul" toy included with the magazine.
  • It was re-run as the second March 2022 issue of the bi-monthly web comic, now advertising Studio Series Revenge of the Fallen Long Haul.
  • This issue was published a yet third time in the first collected edition of Transformers Go! Go!, after which Kodansha subsequently took the rather cynical step of replacing its page on the TV Magazine website with a redirect to an issue advertising the physical release.
  • Presumably mandated to depict the pack-in redeco of the unambiguously movie-styled 2010 Legends Class Long Haul toy precisely, Oda maintains the comic's Generation 1 aesthetic via the incredible strategy of simply leaving Long Haul in vehicle mode for the entire comic.
