Transformers Roleplaying Game

To transport a load of energon cubes to a research facility on the East Coast, the Autobots planned to ship them using a Union Pacific locomotive. To throw the Decepticons off, however, the Autobots sent their remotely controlled train hauling a line of empty cars down the line, while Mirage and Rollbar kept pace with the locomotive behind a holographic dust cloud. Their ruse failed, and the Decepticons eventually tracked the real shipment back to an abandoned rail yard in Colorado, where Blaster and his Mini-Cons tried, and failed, to defend their cargo. Notes

  • Text in The Great Energon Robbery consistently describes the specific locomotive as "Union Pacific 2040". Whether through coincidence or design, this number does belong to a real locomotive that is, as of 2026, still in active operation... however, the book depicts UP 2040 as a fanciful sci-fi locomotive instead of the real-life EMD GP38-2.
