Synopsis
[edit]Optimus Prime, no longer the Autobot leader, travels the desolate wastes of Cybertron. Surveying the destruction, he remembers how the Transformers' millennia-long war finally came to an end...
As the Combiner Wars began, Optimus was struck by the increasing devastation caused by the battle between Autobot and Decepticon, and came to fear that the planet itself could become the ultimate casualty. Notes
[edit]Transformers references
[edit]- The setting draws heavily from the 2005 IDW continuity, featuring a desolate Cybertron, the war finished, and an Optimus Prime who is no longer a military leader.
- We're pretty sure you can guess what Optimus says as the battle between him and Megatron begins.
Trivia
[edit]- Whilst most characters, unsurprisingly, are depicted in their Combiner Wars designs, Optimus Prime and Megatron essentially sport stylised versions of their original '80s character models. We'll see Megatron transform into his Combiner Wars toy's tank mode during the series proper, and he sports a very undersized version of that figure's tank tread kibble on his back in what appears to be a reluctant concession to that fact.
- The release on one of official Transformers YouTube channels lists this as the second prelude instead of the first.
