Despite all appearances, we can assure you Fangry is not shooting Grimlock with his farts.

Compressed air cannons are relatively common Decepticon weapons. Triggerhappy's Targetmaster partner Blowpipe transforms into one, as does Fangry's tail, and Dead End sometimes has one in vehicle mode.

Fiction

Marvel The Transformers comics

Fangry's tail transformed into a compressed air cannon that produced 200 mph winds. Fangry's Universe profile Blowpipe was bio-engineered to convert to a powerful compressed air cannon, which Triggerhappy could wield in robot mode. Triggerhappy's Universe profile

During a fight with Grimlock at the Central Spaceport in Ibex on a doomed Cybertron, Fangry repeatedly blasted the Autobot leader with compressed air fired from his tail. He was surprised when Grimlock's Nucleon-enhanced state allowed him to walk through the blasts and hit him. Exodus!

Dreamwave Generation One continuity

In vehicle mode Dead End could deploy a double-barreled compressed air cannon. Dead End's More than Meets the Eye profile Blowpipe transformed into a powerful compressed-air cannon that Triggerhappy could use in both modes. Dead End's More than Meets the Eye profile

Toys

The Transformers

  • Triggerhappy (Targetmaster, 1987)
  • Accessories: Blowpipe Targetmaster partner/air cannon, blaster
Sold only with The Transformers Triggerhappy, Blowpipe can combine with the accompanying blaster accessory to form an air cannon, according to Triggerhappy's instructions, or a compressed-air cannon according to his packaging bio.

  • Accessories: Brisko Headmaster driver, ion pulse gun, wings/shield
The Transformers Fangry's alternate mode's tail converts into a compressed air cannon... sort of, see below.
This toy was sold in Japan without changes as Wilder.

Notes

  • Fangry's packaging bio states that his "tail converts to compressed air cannon that produces 200 mph gale force winds", possibly implying that at some point during the design process, Fangry was intended to come with a tail piece that would become a secondary weapon in robot mode, as his wavemates Horri-Bull and Squeezeplay did. This detail made it into Fangry's Marvel Universe profile and so in "Exodus!" it was interpreted as allowing Fangry to transform his tail into a compressed air cannon while in his alternate mode, though hilariously, he has to turn his back on Grimlock to do so.
