My headcannon
- The Quintessons are not aliens or the creators of the Transformer race, but rather a divergent race of Cybertroniand themselves. The were once lead by the benevolent Quintus Prime, but when he died, Liege Maximo took his place and lead the Quintesson Empire to colonize and terraform countless worlds to build an empire. Thus, the Cybertronian Empire is actually the Quintesson Empire and Cybertron itself is a colony world of Quintessa. Gobotron is also a colony world elsewhere in the universe.
- The pre-brainwashed Constructicons were the lab assistants of Alpha Trion. When the gladiator/energon miner, D-16 was fatally damaged, they together rebuilt him into Megatron, hoping he would lead the Decepticons down a better path than their previous leader, the genocidial Megazarak, who was exiled to Nebulous. Unfortunately, that didn't really work out as planned, so when Megatron fatally wounded Orion Pax and his friends (who ironically used to be friends with D-16, but didn't know he had become Megatron), Trion felt obligated to rebuild them. Pax was brought to Trion by the Constructicons in the original timeline, when the Aerialbots time traveled, they were the ones who initially brought Pax, but unknowingly they were being guided by Vector Sigma to preserve history before they were returned to their own time period. Scavenger in particular served as a mentor to Optimus is his early days as a warrior. At some point after this, Sentinel Prime fell and while in Trion's care on his death bed, passed the Matrix to Optimus. Not long after this, Megatron would unfortunately use the Robo-Smasher/Recalibrator to brainwash the Alpha Trion's old colleagues into Decepticons. Optimus and Omega Supreme also mourned for the Constructicons, hoping their original Autobot selves would be restored one day.
- The dangerous variant of energon seen in Beast wars and the Energon Cartoon, are the Korlonium Crystals from the episode "A Prime Problem" of the original series. It explains why being around it could be lethal to Transformers, but also that even being far away from it can mess with ur mind, hence why the Autobots were making foolish decisions in that episode regarding the Prime clone. The Maximals and Predacons during the Beast Wars series take on new names based on their Beast modes and such, because the Korlonium Crystals have made them forget who they really are. A majority of the Beast Wars is being watched by the Vok for their amusement and Artemis and Moon are agents of the Vok.
- One would need to remain in a vehicle mode with rubber tires, or have a beast mode or pretender shell to be properly insulated from it's effects.
- Only bots like the Omnicons have adapted by building an immunity to being around them and have the skills needed to refine it properly.
- Sideways in the Unicron Trilogy is actually Liege Maximo from the G2 marvel comic (paint his Cybertron toy green or repurpose G1 Predator Skyquake to represent his "true form"). That explains all his vague, conflicting made-up origins and why he is such a master of Deception, even his own brother, Vector Prime, can't always see thru his lies. He is actually the "first Decepticon" and Megatronus was merely framed or brainwashed by him. It doesn't help that Sideways has taken on various alternate identities over the eons, either by fabricating them or killing and stealing the identities of real bots. He is a crazy bot who would rather "rule from the shadows" and "hide in plain sight", leaving puppet leaders to rule in his place so the target is on their backs and not his. Thus he is content to allow someone like Megatron, Jhaxius or Shockwave, etc. to rule in his syead as an unwitting pawn.
- His spark is indestructible due to being exposed to the Underbase/Vector Sigma in ancient times. Even if he is destroyed, his spark can merely hop into another body.
- The Thirteen Primes destroyed Unicron is ancient times, but Maximo secretly betrayed them by keeping fragments of Unicron's essence to create new bodies for him and keep copies of him living. Unicron can only control him so much because he is technically still a Prime.
- Similar to Japanese continuity, every Prime has his own Energon Matrix. Sideways went on a quest to destroy or corrupt his brothers in order to absorb the powers of their various Matrices. The Matrix of Leadership is the most powerful one, but has eluded his grasp thanks to Alpha Trion.
- Sideways/Liege Maximo is also Taruntulas, and both the Tripredacus/Predacon Council and Maximal Elders work for him. The experiments done to Protoform X/Rampage were done under his supervision. Starscream also absorbed the Underbase's power and gained an indestructible spark and Maximo wished to create an army of super soldiers with similar powers, but after Rampage became a loose cannon, quickly gave up that idea until he could find a better way to control them.
- Primacron and Scrash were also identities fabricated and used by Maximo. When the Decepticon Commander Skyquake died during the Great War, Maximo/Sideways scanned his memories and took his place for a time. Primacron in particular was a Pretender shell. Ultimately, it is Maximo who was tricked all the Autobots and Decepticons to upgrade themselves into Maximals and Predacons, respectively. The latter two factions are not descendants of the former two, but rather separate older factions (similar to the Prime Predacons and IDW Maximals), the Autobots and Decepticons were merely "absorbed" into those preexisting factions. The Autobots and Decepticons will have to relearn their true identities and fight back against Maximo's control. They will firm the Destron alliance and go to war against the Cybertronian/Quintesson Empire.
- As an evil Prime, he is the only one who can control Unicron to a degree. Alpha Q is also a minion of Sideways/Maximo. Maximo/Primacron did not create Unicron, he merely revived him.
- Vector Prime/Oracle/Boltax was the Primacron's assistant and was trapped inside Vector Sigma for many eons when Maximo destroyed his original body.
- Maximo and the Tripredacus Council/Cybertronian Empire/Functionists are allies of the Quintessons.
- Cobra-LA are Quintesson experiments who escaped to Earth in the distant past. Thus, technically the Quintessons has indirect control over the forces of Cobra.
- The Vok are the Remnants of a race who's planet was destroyed either by Unicron or a Cybertronian war in the past, thus they want revenge on the Cybertronian Empire, and by extension, all Transformers. That is why Taruntulas views them as bitter enemies.
- Beast Wars Megatron is actually Straxus/Archforce. The Tripredacus Council already conquered Cybertron when he returned in Beast Maxhines, but used Megatron as unwitting pawn and puppet leader, content to allow him believe he had conquered Cybertron. When Primal sacrificed himself to defeat Megatron and reformat Cybertron, it merely allowed them to continue with their plans without interference from either of the two leaders.
- Taruntulas survives his appearent death in Beast Wars by possessing Waspinator and repairing Ravage's ship to return to Cybertron. Unbeknownst to him, the Vok also follow him back home. When Taruntulas returns to Cybertron, he's able to transfer his spark into a new body, leaving a poor, confused Waspinator behind to be reformatted into the Vehicon general, Thrust.
Continuity
- Robots in Disguise (2001) is a sequel to Cybertron (2005) and thus part of the Unicron Trilogy universe. Megatron is revived by Sideways and his Predacon Council allies and brainwashed to serve them. He is given a powerful 6 changer body and sent to Jungle Planet to defeat Scourge and take leadership of the Predacons of Beast Planet. This is because post-Cybertron, the Decepticons are nearly non-existent and Megatron (and Sideways above him) needed a new army. Under his command, the Predacons would attack the colony worlds and destroy them. This would especially embitter Hotshot, the new leader of Velocitron, feeling that he failed his new home as well as Override, which is why Hotshot is so serious in RID, compared to the Unicron Trilogy serious, he has suffered much loss. Megatron would later be sent to Earth by his new masters to retrieve Fortress Maximus. While on earth, Megatron finds a ship with 6 Autobot Wreckers aboard and reformats them into the Decepticon Commandos. The Commando leader is named Scourge in mocking memory of the fallen Beast Planet leader, and because he scanned Optimus Prime and became an "evil clone" of him, Scourge also possesses an "evil" copy of his Matrix, which Sideways will want to steal later.
- Energon would depict the Autobots and humans openly working together, while in Cybertron, it seemed that the Autobots had never been to Earth before. My solution to this discrepancy is to split the difference and say since we only saw secret bases like Ocean city, it could be argued only a few groups of humans knew of their existence, and to the rest of humanity, they were still a secret. Also the Build Team was sent to Earth to build the Global Space Bridge so Cybertron could be evacuated during the Unicron Singularity Crisis during the Cybertron cartoon. After that crisis was dealt with, the evacuated Transformers would return to Cybertron, but when Megatron and his new gang of Predacons arrive on earth in RID01, the Autobots continue to use the global space bridge as a ground bridge, rather than have it dismantled. All throughout Cybertron and RID01, the Autobots other human allies and the Build Team were working together with the refugees offscreen at Ocean City and other similar bases.
- The Predacons (and Maximals) are ancient races like in Prime, who served the Quintessons. They did not go extinct, but rather were exiled to Beast Planet. Many of them got stuck in Beast mode and became Battle beasts.
- Sharkticons, Allicons, and the Seacon hordes from Masterforce were cloned from Jungle Planet Transformers by the Quintessons to use as soldiers. Terrorcons (Energon anime), and the 5-bot team that forms Abominus (G1) are actually undead warriors (much like the zombiecons in Prime), they run on Dark Energon and are effective drones who follow orders without question, though many of them can be bumbling idiots at times. The 5 Predacons led by Razorclaw worked for the Quintessons and were given the ability to combine by them, before eventually defecting to the Decepticons. The Vehicon drones in Beast Machines are also creations of the Quintessons, similar to Overcharge drones (Blitzwing used to be one of them, but gained sentience). Vehicon and Seacon drones, etc run on Energon and are technically alive. Terrorcons are undead and run on Dark Energon. It can be hard to tell the difference so the Autobots must wear protective armor in case they battle any Terrorcons, lest they get infected with Dark Energon.
- Velocitronians have a "racing culture" because they were forced to race eachother when the Quintessons occupied and enslaved their Planet, experimenting on them with Red Energon. Even when the Quintessons were expelled from their world, they kept the racing as part of their culture.
- Motormaster and his Stunticons will try to conquer that world at some point. Perhaps thet were in charger after the Quintessons were defeated, and Overide lead a rebellion against them.
- GI Joe wasn't active in the G1 cartoon universe until the 90s (during a time the Transformers battles had largely moved away from earth), hence a lack of crossovers. GI Joe: RAH begins a loose Trilogy, with the DIC series no longer being Canon. After the movie, the mutated snake Cobra Commander is cured and imprisoned by the Joes, leading into the events of Sigma 6, where he escapes imprisonment. At the end of that series, Cobra Commander escapes and with his organization dismantled, he elects to "lay low" and build a new criminal empire as the crime boss, Old Snake. Iron Klaw, distant relative of Destro, and his Skar forces are a group of traitors from Cobra and Overkill from Sigma 6 is actually Garrisson Krieger (the Cobra mechs being the Iron Army), who eventually joins them. A broad strokes version of GI Joe Extreme concludes the Trilogy with Lt. Stone forming his own team of Joes to take down Iron Klaw and Skar once and for all. Old Snake evades justice for many decades continuing to be a crime boss without having to constantly look over his shoulder, with GI Joe eventually being disbanded after Cobra and Skar are seemingly gone for good. All of going good for the old Commander, until the Autobots return... he may very well have a new enemy to deal with.
- The difference between Minicons and Micromasters, is that the Minicons/Cyberdroids (including Headmasters, Targetmasters, Powermasters and Gobots) were all once organic Nebulons who have been enslaved reformatted by Unicron into robotic forms (before Vector Prime used the power of his Matrix to sever their connection to Unicron), hence why they can powerlinx with "Bulk" Transformers and give them power boosts. Meanwhile, Micromasters/Infiltrators (Including Mini-Casettes like Rumble) are "regular" Cybertronians who downsized into energy efficient forms and as such, cannot powerlinx with Bulks.
- The Unicron Trilogy/RID 01 universe is a "divergent timeline" created by a time-travelling Ravage (and his 4 minions: the dinobot, Cruellock, insecticon Chromhorn, sharkticon Hammerstrike and bird-bot Shadowhawk). who seeking to retroactively win the war, when back in time to the day the Ark and Nemesis were to launch and sabotaged both ships so they couldn't leave Cybertron, before attempting to assassinate Optimus Prime, steal the Matrix and destroy Unicron himself. He failed to kill Optimus (tho he would remain in critical condition for some time) and was tricked into taking a fake, dud Matrix with him. Unicron absorbed Ravage and his team into his systems (learning of future events) and created hordes of Terrorcon clones to pillage and destroy countless worlds. Eventually, Unicron would consume Nebulos and reformat the surviving inhabitants into Minicons and send them to Cybertron where the Great War continued despite an energy crisis (and with a lack of resources to downsize everyone into Micromasters). In this timeline, Optimus and Megatron never disappeared or remained in stasis lock for 4 million years, instead continuing their war on Cybertron for all those years and only arriving on Earth in the year 2010 when Rad White Witwicky would activate the first Minicon. The Autobots and Decepticons were nearly enslaved by the use of Minicons as new weapons/power sources in the past (before Vector Prime severed their connection to Unicron) and instead sent them away from Cybertron when a new source of Energon was finally found.
- Transformers Energon takes place merely 5 years after Armada, while Cybertron takes place only 1 year after Energon (and the Unicron Singularity is caused by Alpha Q's pocket dimension collapsing, tho Cybertron is able to be pushed back into the main universe in time to escape destruction). RID01 takes place about 2 years after Cybertron, narrowing down the timeline from 30+ years down to about 8 years.
- The ninja-mercenary Sixshot is actually Lockdown, who got enough upgrades to eventually take on about 6 to 7 forms.
- Energon Shockblast and Sixshot are failed clones of Shockwave. Soundwave died fighting Unicron during Armada and was reformatted by Sideways into a loyal minion. Megatron and Starscream's own minds also being messed with while within Unicron meant they couldn't recognize their old colleague, while Soundwave had no memories of his previous life as Decepticon communications officer. Galvatron is a split personality of Megatron the keep trying to take control of Megatron's body throughout the Unicron Trilogy (hence why he keeps going back and forth). The Galvatron personality will eventually get his own body, some of Megatron's worst actions throughout Energon and Cybertron can be chalked up to the Galvatron personality trying to take control. Shockwave will eventually restore the memories of Megatron, Starscream and Soundwave and free them from Sideways's control. Shockwave will have a personal history with Sideway/Maximo as it will be revealed he was the one who removed Shockwave's face and replaced it with the eye. Protoform X/Shockaract/Rampage was a clone of Shockwave with his face restored, tho with an attempt to replicate Starscream's indestructible Underbase-empowered spark.
- The Nebulan Zarak is actually the former genocidal Decepticon warlord Megazarak ironically trapped in a Pretender shell hiding on Nebulos. He founded the Hive and enslaved the planet before Unicron consumed the planet (in both timelines). Zarak/Megazarak is NOT Scorponok, but rather a separate individual.
- If i had a show, Thunderclash would be the main character, he would be a rebuilt Dion, and be a composite character of Ginrai/Powermaster Prime, Victory Leo, Leo Prime and Big Convoy, taking their various roles in an continuity similar to Japanese g1. He would fight Skyquake, not knowing until later on that he's actually been fighting Liege Maximo all along. Star Saber would be renamed Wing Saber because of the sword (Vector Prime's Rhisling sword is the real Star Saber, the minicon Star Saber was Unicron's attempt to replicate a relic of the Primes and woukd actually be the Dark Saber).
- Deathsauras would be a rebuilt and brainwashed version of Wing Saber's old friend, Padlock. Magmatron would be a composite character with Overlord (having gained a third component before adopting a beast form, Overlord is merely a title for Magmatron) and BW2 Galvatron would be a composite character with the crime boss Cryotek.
- Rid01 Ultra Magnus used to be more like his G1 counterpart, but Sideways corrupted him with Dark Energon before he arrived on earth, amplifying a hidden anger with Optimus. Eventually Optimus uses the Matrix to purge the Dark Energon from his system.
- The BW2 Seacons were mercenaries who took jobs in exchange for upgrades and would work for whoever paid them most. The Quintessons hired them for a job ahd gave them their Beast modes based the legions of Seacon drones, as well as the ability to combine (which meant they eventually fell under the Quints' control).
- The Detective Autobot Nightbeat would be a composite character with Punch and would go undercover as the Decepticon Counterpunch. Minerva is his sister, she became a Headmaster with Zarak's adoptive daughter, Lylra, when the latter found out about her "father's" deceptions.
- Energon Scorponok is an upgraded version of BW Scorponok, he and Terrorsaur were plucked by Unicron from "prehistoric earth" at the moment of their deaths.
- The prehistoric earth seen in Beast wars is actually a Vok game planet and the Ark and Nemesis found there are fake. The Maximals and Predacons never actually time traveled, the Vok were messing with their heads (which is why they all also renamed themselves upon adopting new beast modes).
- The Oracle/Primacron's assistant that aided the Dinobots and other "primitive" bots to defeat Primacron/Maximo in the original cartoon, as well as the Oracle in Beast Machines that allied with the Maximals, was actually Vector Prime. Eventually he's creates a new body for himself and frees himself from the computer. When Primal defeated beast Megatron, he unknowingly unleashed a technoorganic virus that threatened to destroy Cybertron. Vector Prime tells the Maximals/Autobots they need to find the Cyber Planet Keys in order to restore Cybertron and eliminate the technorganic virus. Starscream uses the Cyber Keys gain a new body, as does Thrust once he is freed from his prison within Unicron.
- Eventually the two timelines are merged by Vector Prime. With a new version of the Unicron Trilogy and RID01 "overwriting" the Rebirth 3-parter. In the revised timeline, the Autobots kept their existence a secret during the G1 cartoon by posing as human built robots created by Chip Chase. Megatron, willing to entertain this idea to misdirect the Autobots, had Frenzy and the Reflector trio, as well as a few drones, use Pretender shells and pose as a human terrorist organization, Cemetary Wind, who "built" the Decepticons to take over the world. Thus the humans don't really know of the Transformers existence, but handwaving many instances in the G1 cartoon where the humans did know, into them just believing they were human built robots like in Rescue Bots.
Restored/Merged Timeline
- G1 Scorponok is the genocidial Megazarak/Zarak, a Pretender exiled to Nebulous, who initiatally had his memories wiped, but over time came to regain them and conquered the planet forming the Hive organization using Cybertronian technology. BW/Energon Scorponok is the only bot to actually be called Scorponok.
- When Vector Prime merges "corrects" the timelines, in addition to the Cybertronians existence being largely a secret, the events of the Rebirth are erased and instead replaced by a new version of the Armada cartoon. In the revised timeline, Vector Prime goes back to when the Minicons, Cyber Keys and Fortress Maximus were launched off Cybertron during a brief ceasefire (revealed to have all happened on the same day).
- In the new timeline where Optimus and Megatron continued the war for 4 million years: the Combaticons were revived and brainwashed much earlier, Scavenger has defected back to the Autobots (with the remains 5 Constructicons becoming Constructicon Maximus until they can find a new 6th member) and the Aerialbots, Stunticons, Technobots, and Dinobots (tho they don't have dino modes yet) have been created much earlier by Vector Sigma. All 4 teams start out as Decepticons until the Technobots (sans Scattorshot) combine into Computron convince his "brother" Superion to change sides and upon battling Devastator/Constructicon Maximus and Bruticus, all 4 combiners go into stasis lock, frozen in battle when the 2 Autobot sacrifice themselves to prevent the Decepticons from finding out the location of the Super Energon (Ore 14), until Megatron reawakens them in the Energon anime. However, Vector Prime is able to go back and prevent the 4 of them from going into stasis, as well as prevent the deaths of the future Dinobots, meaning Grimlock never joins the Build Team, and the 5 Autobots join the Ark crew. Fortress Maximus has also been created much earlier and under different circumstances, with Cerebros himself being the smallest bot, forming the head of Emissary, causing Fort Max to be much larger in this reality. The pacifistic Cerebros requested he "have his personality turned off" so he wouldn't be forced to endure fighting, rendering him monotone drone. (His true personality can still be restored later.) When Vector goes back to "restore history", he makes sure Optimus and Megatron repair the Ark and Nemesis, so they can crash on earth and go into stasis until the volcanic eruption in 1984, ensuring the "timeline will be restored to 90% accuracy" (as Vector says). "Sentinel Minor", Hotshot's superior who left Wheeljack to die is also exposed as a minion of Sideways. After Vector defeats him, Hotshot is able to go and save Wheeljack, ensuring he never joins Megatron.
- In this "third" merged timeline, Shockwave is left in command on Cybertron while Megatron's goes on the repaired Nemesis, intending to betray the brief ceasefire. His clones Shockblast and Sixshot are destoryed in a battle with the Autobots, erasing the events of Energon anime in the future. Vector Prime doesn't reveal his true identity or motives to the past Autobots to prevent paradoxes, instead disguising himself as a lowly Autobot commander for the time being. The 6 Wreckers/future Commandos are aboard the Atlantis ship with Evac and Metalhawk, but go in an escape pod when the ship crashed on earth. Hotshot, Smokescreen and Wheeljack were also Wreckers, under the harsh commander who turned out to be a doubke agent. Optimus goes on the Ark to ensure the Minicons and Fort Max have a safe passage thru the Space Bridge, but when Megatron shows up in the Nemesis, they attack the Ark, leading to them all fighting and ensuring they crash into Mt. St. Hillary on earth as they did in the original timeline. Alpha Trion is kept prisoner by Shockwave (he didn't need to die to activate Vector Sigma and create the Aerialbots, since they, the future Dinobots, and Technobots start out as Decepticon creations in this timeline before defecting, thus Trion (later freed by Elita 1's resistance cell) lives into present day. Hotshot remains behind on Cybertron while his friend Wheeljack goes on the Ark. After Wheeljack's presumed death, Hotshot goes on to form the Spychangers much earlier in this third timeline.
- Hotshot's other friend, Smokescreen, compulsive gambler, like in the previous timeline, loses a bet and gets forced to take on a bulky, "slower" crane body. He's eventually nearly killed and rebuilt into an even bulkier excavator body (never called Hoist, who's a separate character), before having the chance to regain a sleeker form and go undercover as a Decepticon jet. By present day, he's restored to his original sports-car body but retains a jetpack in robot mode.
- Because the Transformers existence is a secret and the Autobots never share their technology with the humans in the revised timeline (tho the events of the 1986 movie largely happen the same, with Autobot City being a secret base like Ocean City), the year 2005 is much less technologically advanced than it was in season 3 of the original show (despite this, most events happen the same). Fast forward to after the Hate Plague crisis is resolved when Optimus is revived, he goes on to have the Matrix recharged by Vector Sigma. Rad, Daniel's younger brother, finds a minicon and draws the Decepticons back to Earth. During the year of Decepticon absence, Megazarak had rebuilt Galvatron back into Megatron (in a body resembling Megazarak's original form) and attempts to take over Megatron's body, but fails and is seemingly destroyed. Zarak's trastector is used as a ship by Megatron. Starscream is revived by Alpha Q much earlier in this timeline into a body resembling his Armada body, but Megatron is able to brainwash Starscream into being loyal to him. Cyclonus scans a helicopter earth mode, while Scourge and his sweeps become bomber planes. Demolisher also joins Megatron's team. Optimus goes to Earth with Hotshot and Red Alert to investigate the minicons and encounter Rad and Carlos, only to be met with the arrival of Megatron's forces, who they proceed to battle, leading into the events of Armada. Elsewhere, Unicron's head begins to disintegrate and absorb into one of Cybertron's moons, slowly transforming it into a new body for himself. Later on in this version of Armada, Starscream doesn't die trying to prove Unicron's existence, Megatron/Galvatron doesn't need proof, he just simply refuses to believe he could still be active, but soon finds out that Sideways is working for him, proving Unicron has returned.
- Cybertron Mensaor was a permanently fused version of the Stunticon combiner, when he got repair after he was damaged, landing on Gigantian, after going thru a worm hole to a distant corner of the universe. However, thanks to Vector Prime, the Stunticons are defeated before they can leave Cybertron and the team ends up going to (and attempting to conquer) Velocitron instead. Motormaster vows to become ruler of that planet's roads.
- Optimus gets visons of the Cyber Planet Keys and Omega Lock from the Matrix of Leadership and tells that they Autobots they need to go to the colony worlds and collect them to awaken Primus, so he can defeat Unicron once and for all (and hopefully prevent the Unicron Singularity).
- During a battle against the Decepticons on Cybertron, a wounded Landmine is teleported to Earth by Vector Prime so he can be found by Cody, Bud and Lori. Together with the Autobots, they help find the Omega Lock and Earth Cyber Key much earlier in this timeline.
- Optimus never gets killed by the Hydra Cannon because it's deactivated before it can ever power up. The Autobots and Decepticons visit the various colony worlds (and make allies) while on the journey back to Cybertron aboard the Axalon/repaired Ark, to collect the other 3 Cyber keys. Predacon leader, Scourge/Cerebrus and his lackey, Sky-Byte, join the Decepticons, tho the two are eventually convinced to defect to the Autobots by Lori.
- Starscream eventually joins the Autobots for good (tho he insists he's still a Decepticon). Thrust, after betraying Megatron, takes Starscream's place in this timeline, along with Dirge and Ramjet, as the ones who gains larger bodies from absorbing the power of the Omega Lock. The trio also take the place that the brainwashed Soundwave would've played as Sideways's right-hand minions since Soundwave never dies fighting Unicron in this timeline.
- Metroplex and Trypticon are from Gigantian and left eons ago. Trypticon was nearly killed and needed a new body in the original G1 timeline, while Metroplex never left the planet in the Unicron Trilogy timeline.
- After Primus is awoken by the Cyber Keys and defeats Unicron, the Singularity never happens because the timeline has been "restored", and thus Cybertron never needs to be evacuated and the Global Space Bridge is never built on earth. Since a space bridge of such magnitude never needed to be constructed, there's a much smaller ground bridge/space bridge terminal (akin to the one seen in Prime) at the Autobot base on earth that's taken it's place.
- Energon Ironhide is a clone of the original G1 Ironhide. When the original Ironihide turns up alive once again and joins the Spychangers, energon Ironhide is renamed Motormouth (in homage to the G2 Gobot character).
- Steamhammer replaces Scavenger as 6th member of the Constructicon, restoring Devastator, while Scavenger joins the Build Team (taking Grimlock's place in this timeline), allowing them to combine into Landfill to battle Devastator.
- Grimlock and his team were on the Atlantis (with Metalhawk, Evac and Crosswise) and became the Dinobots while fighting Blood's Decepticon Pretender forces in ancient times. They fell into stasis, but were eventually awoken by Optimus's team in 1984.
- The corrupt Autobot High Council/Maximal Elders/Functionists consists of Jhaxius and his two lieutenants/generals Strika and Obsidian. They are loyal to Liege Maximo/Sideways and the Cybertronian/Quintesson Empire. They are personal enemies of Megatron, Shockwave and Soundwave. Megazarak was a agent of the Tripredacus Council before he went rogue and went into exile, and he is responsible for the genocidial rampage in Cybertron's ancient days, specifically against the female Transformers and why they were nearly wiped out. Megatron loyalists like Slipstream and Flamewar instead Megatron is a hero and has led the Decepticons in a better direction after Megazarak's defeat. The Decepticons were not a faction founded by Megatron, but rather a group of bots collectively blacklisted by the pre-war Council. Many leaders have tried to organize this loose group of "enemies to the state" into a militaristic force, but none were quite as successful before Megatron rose to power.
- Nucleon is part of the gas that freezes bots when they go into stasis for an extended period, not enough to make one lose the ability to transform all together, but just enough to "reset" someone's T-cog, which is why most bots have to scan a new alternate mode upon energing from stasis. Scanning an alternate mode, whether vehicle or beast mode, can also cause bots to take on the personality and attributes of whoever they scan, if they scan a vehicle with a driver, it's likely their personality will become like the driver. That is why many bots, not only speak english and other human languages, but also have "accents" and speak with certain mannerisms.
- Most bots try to avoid scanning altmodes directly and instead use sky-spies, so they don't risk changing their own personalities too much. The Autobot Skid-Z is a perfect example of this: after arriving on Earth, he scanned an F-1 race car once belonging to the dead racecar driver, Auggie Cahnay, for his vehicle mode. While alive, Cahnay had joked that he was in the car so much that it had taken on his personality and this statement rang bizarrely true when Skid-Z was possessed by Cahnay's residual psychotropic energy as a result of him forgetting to purge the vehicle with a high-frequency wave pulse before scanning it. Thereafter, he began behaving increasingly erratically, much like the late Cahnay.
- All the Seekers are (ironically, unlike Animated) not clones of Starscream, but rather instead, they, including Starscream, are Quintesson clones who developed personalities (unlike most other of their drone classes) of the ancient Decepticon warrior, Ulchtar.
- Vector Sigma is housed within the Underbase. Boltax is the same individual as Vector Prime (his pre-Prime name, and was Primacron's assistant and the Oracle seen in BM, and Vector Sigma seen in BW2 and BWN (which similar to the IDW BW comics, similar events of those seen in those animes happened way earlier in this timeline).
- Ironically, unlike Animated, Elita One willing takes on a spider beast mode and remains a heroic Maximal/Autobot. (Her Transmetal spider-body is repurposed from Botcon 2001 Arcee.)
- Arcee is from Paradron and was once a medic. She eventually scans a blue motorcycle mode and becomes like her brooding Prime counterpart, after all the Omincons (who hail from the colony world or Paradron) are wiped out during the war. In the revised timeline, Paradron was destroyed much earlier than in the original series. Unicron would recieve a giant power boost upon consuming the planet.
