A refitted 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor, the Ecto-1, or the Ectomobile, is the primary mode of transportation that the Ghostbusters use to get around New York City so that they can bust ghosts.

As the Ghostbusters chased down a tentacled ghost, the Ecto-1 fell into a sinkhole caused by the spirit. After assuring themselves that the car was fine, the four returned their attention to the spirit, unaware that an Autobot Sky Spy had scanned their car a second later as a local alternate mode for Ectronymous Diamatron. After the humans had dealt with the specter, they were confused by the presence of two cars, especially after Peter Venkman confirmed that Ecto-1 was still in the sinkhole. Ghosts of Cybertron Part 1
After Optimus Prime had arrived on Earth, the damaged Ecto-1 was hauled out of its hole and brought to the Ghostbusters' warehouse in Red Hook. As the Ghostbusters worked on creating Transformer-sized proton packs, Ectotron gave the damaged Cadillac a few pokes. Ghosts of Cybertron Part 4 When Ectotron prepared to leave Earth later that day, the Ghostbusters offered him a spot with them, partially motivated by their lack of a car. Laughing, Ectotron promised to fix the Ecto-1, along with the damage he'd done to the Ghostbusters firehouse, before he left the planet. Ghosts of Cybertron Part 5
