The Auto Rollers are a pair of big, nasty Decepticon thugs.
They are:
Toys
[edit]Generation 2
[edit]
- Auto Rollers (1995)
- Known designers: Takio Ejima (TakaraTomy), Masakatsu Saito (concept artist)
- The two Auto Rollers were sold carded. Both are green construction vehicles. They feature a gearing mechanism which triggers an autotransform from vehicle to robot when pushed forward, as well as spring-loaded missile launchers.
- Redecoes of both were planned, as "General Optimus Prime" and "Sergeant Hound", but were not released. It would appear that promotion in the Autobot army is hard on the leg articulation.
- The two already-released sculpts, as well as two more Auto Rollers which had until then remained unused, were released in Japan for the Beast Wars II line as the Autorollers.
Notes
[edit]- In early Beast Wars planning, Hasbro conceptualized four new vehicular "Auto Roller" toys: Prowl as a moon buggy, Starscream as a jet, Hound as a steam shovel, and Rumble as a dump truck.[1] It is unclear how related these four toys would have been to the four molds which did see release in Generation 2/Beast Wars II.
Foreign names
[edit]- English/Spanish/Portuguese: Autorollers
- French/Dutch/German: Autorollers / Auto-Transformers
- Italian: Excavators
