The Protectobots were stationed in an Autobot base in Siberia containing information regarding the Autobots and United States' joint research into combiner technology in Steel City. However, the base was captured by the forces of the Star Seekers spy Famine and the team was imprisoned. They were freed when the Autobots and Decepticons launched independent assaults to free the base.
