Drift and the team explore Japanese original Generation 1 anime.

Synopsis

[edit]

Optimus Prime introduces Drift to take over detailing later Generation 1 anime in Japan. Drift naturally begins with The Headmasters, which introduces Headmaster Transformers. Lockdown asks for elaboration, so Optimus and Bumblebee explain the Headmaster concept, which Lockdown finds over-complicated. Next, Drift presents Super-God Masterforce, featuring Headmaster Juniors, Pretenders and Godmasters. Lockdown is again unfamiliar with the concepts, and when Optimus and Bumblebee explain them, he complains that it's not even the same anime at that point. Drift carries on to Victory, which focuses on Combiners like Road Caesar and Liokaiser. Lockdown laments what Transformers has become.

This out of the way, Optimus suggests they come up with a new kind of Transformer to rival those in the three anime. Lockdown immediately suggests they should become idols since, as Bumblebee points out, singing is all the rage these days. He elaborates that they transform as they sing, becoming a team of heroic fighters, but then suddenly remembers he's seen something like it in Reideen the Superior. Drift questions whether they're okay naming specific anime. Bumblebee decides they should ditch that part of the concept and just have the singing transform their inner selves, demonstrating by going off at Optimus. Optimus is relieved that Bumblebee wasn't seriously menacing him, to which Drift recalls Optimus has a reputation for leaking oil.
