Attempts to examine other crappy video games from the same time period as Mystery of Convoy leads to a discussion on lazy explorers.
Synopsis
[edit]Sideswipe and Sunstreaker join the regular trio for a discussion. Sideswipe is confused by why they're discussing old crappy games, but Optimus Prime explains that they're trying to deepen their understanding of Mystery of Convoy by examining other crappy Famicom games. Lockdown asserts the problem is that the game doesn't reflect the show it was based on and demands everyone else admit it. Everyone ignores him. Sunstreaker brings up a "World Famous Person's Challenge", which is widely regarded as crappy, featuring a dull protagonist and difficult game play, including having to wait for an hour to get a critical item. To top this off, the game ended with a terrible message about not taking games seriously, which Optimus suggests could be traumatic for children. Sunstreaker next brings up another game, this one about rebellious Japanese farmers — there are only one or two farmers, the aim is to collect coins, and the enemies are ninja instead of samurai. Sideswipe suggests a cave diving game which the two brothers proclaim crappy because the player dies from the smallest of falls.
Bumblebee suggests they discuss the idea of explorers who stay at home. Optimus agrees and suggests Lockdown start off. Lockdown announces he can't stand it if he doesn't shower first thing in the morning, which throws the others for a loop. Bumblebee says he can only sleep if he has his usual pillow, leading the others to label him sensitive. Optimus suggests an explorer who's so over-prepared he is overloaded with luggage and tons of water bottles, the latter of which is possibly for use as a shower. Bumblebee thinks it's a case of explorers being so busy preparing that they never actually go anywhere and maybe that's fine as they can explore from home. Lockdown's suggestion they could play "The Game of Life" amuses Optimus but the Autobot leader's joking about a journey called life made over six days just leaves the others confused.
