The stasis machine utilizes two beams—one to accelerate entropy and the other to reverse it. In concert, these energies cause the subject to become frozen in time, allowing, for instance, fruit to be preserved much longer. Bananas that never go off!

The machine was being transported unassembled to Doc Greene's care in Griffin Rock when petty thieves Evan and Myles stole part of it. The remainder of the machine arrived safely at Doc Greene's lab, however as he was assembling it, Cody Burns triggered the remote control, zapping himself. The energy emitted from that half of the machine aged Cody to premature adulthood. Doc Greene set about modifying the components he possessed to try to reverse the effect without success, however when Evan and Myles attempted to break into the lab to steal the rest of the machine, Cody took the opportunity to try to get the stolen part back. During the ensuing chase, Myles zapped Kade Burns with the stolen piece of the device, regressing Kade to childhood. Myles subsequently tried to ditch the device into the sea during their escape attempt, but Boulder caught it. The missing piece was returned to Doc Greene who used it to return Cody and Kade back to normal. One for the Ages
