Chromatron was a renowned artist in the days before the Autobot/Decepticon War. He lived as part of a colony of artisan manufacturers around the Lower Pool of Polyhex.

Inspired by suddenly-prominent revolutionary Megatron, Chromatron was working on his latest project, a projection model portrait of the leader, when terrorists inspired by (and perhaps directed by) that same Megatron detonated a series of bombs within Polyhex as part of a multi-prong strike. The explosions sent the cliff face above—and the high-caste houses constructed there—cascading down into the molten Lower Pool, killing Chromatron and countless others. Exodus
