Overkill was a crew member on the Nemesis when it left Cybertron in search of a Star Harvester. He was on the bridge when alarms began ringing throughout the ship, and reported to Soundwave that he was detecting an "agitation in local space-time" that he didn't understand. Then another spaceship materialized in the same space he was occupying. He ended up inside the ship as it teleported away again. As the Longshot passed through the anomaly in pursuit, everything and everyone began to glow. This caused Soundwave to worriedly think about what happened to Overkill. After the crew had caught up with the spaceship responsible, they discovered Overkill's lifeless body inside; the shock of being pulled along for the ride had killed him. Convergence chapter 1

Notes

• Overkill is described as having "stubby arms", which, combined with the fact that he appears to have had a close relationship with Soundwave, makes it pretty clear that this Overkill is directly based on his Generation 1 namesake.
• Overkill was in an early draft of The Reign of Starscream, but was dropped at Hasbro's request.
