Optimus Prime rescues Ultra Magnus from Galvatron II with the power of his new Black Body.
Synopsis
[edit]With the arrival of the other-dimensional Galvatron II, the war between the Autobots and Decepticons has intensified. In an attempt to end the struggle, Autobot engineers built a pair of missile launchers so powerful that only Optimus Prime can wield them. Additionally, Optimus Prime has taken on a new body, outfitted with a special "black body" coating which allows him to absorb solar energy. While this enhances his strength, it puts him at risk of overheating, forcing him to end conflicts quickly.
Somewhere, the recently resurrected Laser Rod Ultra Magnus has taken on Galvatron II all by himself. He is no match for Galvatron, who has beaten him senseless. Magnus refuses to surrender, forcing Galvatron to hurl him away joyfully with a few nasty insults. With Magnus defeated, Galvatron prepares to blow his head off. Suddenly, his arm cannon is blown off by Optimus Prime, who has arrived just in time. Amused, Galvatron remarks that the battle is beginning to look like a motor show and asks if Prime got his new tan from country living. Prime admits to being impressed with Galvatron's oh-so-clever observation.

Notes
[edit]- The T.H.S. 02 comic takes place after the Japanese version of the Generation 2 storyline.
- This comic actually follows a storyline begun by Hirofumi Ichikawa via the Tech Spec bios packaged with several other e-HOBBY exclusive toys.
- The story began in the Galvatron II bio, in which a Galvatron from an alternate reality traveled to this timeline, intending to conquer the universe with his fleet of Warworlds.
- The story continued in the Laser Rod Ultra Magnus bio, in which Ultra Magnus used the Reconfiguration Matrix within the Matrix of Leadership to resurrect himself in a new body with which to counter Galvatron II. This comic picks up shortly afterward.
- The story then continues in the toy bio and pack-in comic, "MP-1B Cybertron Commander / Convoy Black Ver.".
- Galvatron would not appear again in the e-HOBBY comics. His whereabouts would eventually be explained by the 2017 Unite Warriors story "Ruination Chapter, Part Two", which detailed that, having been fed up with being called "Galvatron II" by other people, Galvatron time-traveled to the past so that he would be called the "first Galvatron". This sequence of events would then be depicted in 2018's "The Road to Legends' Revival" arc in the Legends manga.
- A colorised version of this strip was published years later in 2024, in issue #3 of Bingo Sports Magazine. Whether the comic was originally created in color, or colorised specifically for this re-release, is unknown.
