• Westenra is named for Lucy Westenra from Bram Stoker's Dracula.
• The moons Westenra and Mina invite comparison between their respective planets, Dread and Galleon: they are planets that have both been heavily mined (evoking the vampiric motif), but Dread was mined by the villainous faction so its moon is named after the "corrupted" (Lucy) Westenra.
