"Mudflap" is a derogatory piece of slang used to denote a dumb, uncultured country-bot. Basically, the Transformer equivalent of "hick", "redneck", or "hayseed".

Wasp dubbed Bulkhead "a total mudflap" when first meeting him in boot camp. Shortly thereafter, Bumblebee referred to him by the same term, albeit in the midst of an insult directed at Sentinel Prime's chin. Autoboot Camp
