If Micronus Prime and his massive supplies of energy can be likened to a living battery, then his Chimera Stone is the conduit through which he focuses his power. As his chosen artifact, he can channel his energy to any other member of the Thirteen; while connected, the stone allows him to direct his energies to best suit the needs of his allies.

Fiction

The Covenant of Primus

[edit]

Shortly after the birth of the Thirteen, Solus Prime created the Chimera Stone for Micronus Prime using her forge. Micronus used it often as the Primes prepared for their battle against Unicron, adding his own power to Solus's strength as she worked to build weapons and armor for the Primes.

After the death of Solus Prime, an incensed Micronus used the Chimera Stone on Onyx Prime; as the Primes interrogated Megatronus about his part in Solus's death, Micronus angrily channeled some of Onyx's power to transform into a furious, animalistic version of himself. The Covenant of Primus

The Chimera Stone was an artifact believed to have existed at one point or another. While residing within House at the Sea of Rust, Termagax pondered on whether the Thirteen were metaphors meant to explain the mysterious powers held by the artifacts. Lord of Misrule: Sea of Rust I

Toys

Age of the Primes

[edit]
It tastes like coconut… and metal… oh, wow, YEAH!
  • The Thirteen Micronus Prime (Deluxe Class, 2025)
Part of the third wave of Age of the Primes Deluxe Class figures, Micronus Prime features his Chimera Stone in the form of a small disc accessory bearing his personal insignia. The artifact sports a 5 mm post on its back, which allows it to store on Micronus's back in both robot and alternate modes, or peg onto the included Apex Armor-inspired exo-suit in either of its modes, either front and center on its chest or in the wheel well of its unicycle mode.

Notes

[edit]
  • The Chimera Stone's appearance in "Lord of Misrule: Sea of Rust I" was inspired by the visual of an atom with electrons.[2]
  • The product copy for Micronus Prime's Age of the Primes toy notably gets the proper nouns real scrambled as someone in the chain seemingly misinterpreted the toy as operating on a classical Armada-style "standard Transformer with Mini-Con sidekick" arrangement. It not only fails to call out the intended artifact[3] at all but refers to Micronus himself as the "Chimera Stone accessory" for his own exo-suit.[4]

Foreign names

[edit]
  • Japanese: Chimera Stone (キメラストーン Kimera Sutōn)
