Mugen

- Mugen is an Autobot-allied Mini-Con from the Galaxy Force portion of the Unicron Trilogy continuity family.
Mugen (ムゲン) is a member of the Caliber Mini-Con Team, a special strike force under the command of Wing Saber. She is the group's illusionist, able to tap into the spiritual realm, albeit inconsistently.[1]

- Galaxy Force Mugen is a redeco and minor retool of the Armada Air Military Mini-Con Team Mini-Con Terradive, transforming into a "Blackbird" style stealth jet. She also has a third three-bladed-claw mode. A 5 mm post was added to each of her heels so that Mugen could be used as a hand-held weapon by most larger Unicron Trilogy toys as well as be mounted on a Powerlinx plug. (The Cybertron incarnation of Wing Saber is unable to hold 5 mm-peg accessories in his hands, and has to mount Mugen on his forearm.)
- The unfortunate design flaw of the three claw/cockpit sections, is that there isn't enough clearance for each claw to move past each other during transformation, meaning each claw has to be flexed past one another, causing any of them to pop off. In the worst recorded cases, the outer claw joints can crack and break. As it is a result of the overall design, it's safe to assume that every use of the mold is just as prone to breakage. Caution is advised.
- She and the other Caliber Micron were only available in July of 2005 from select stores in Japan as special promotional giveaways. Mugen could be obtained with the purchase of any Transformers item only from Joshin Denki stores, a move that made Mugen more difficult for fans to acquire than the other two, as the chain had no stores in the Tokyo area.

[edit]- According to Doug Dlin, "I initially thought [Mugen] was the word 'infinite,' [無限] but Ichikawa-san pointed out it can also mean 'illusion' [夢幻] or 'misty illusion' [霧幻] (thus implying ninja-like deception and stealth) if different kanji are used. It's difficult to confirm which of these three was intended without official source confirmation, though."
- Mugen had no bio information whatsoever until a 2015 Facebook entry of Ask Vector Prime declared Mugen to be a female character.
- In February 2026, Greg Sepelak revealed that Fakeout was proposed as a localized name for a Transformers Collectors' Club website bio which never came to fruition in the 2000s. This bio identified Fakeout as the male gunner of the team.[2] The intended profile art did appear in issue #28 of the Collectors' Club magazine as part of the article "THE ARMADAVERSE: A Whole New Way to Play".
