Not exactly on what we imagined how "Bumblemus Prime" would've looked.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon Mix & Match is an activity book released to tie-in with the Dark of the Moon film. The book's gimmick is that each page can be flipped over in thirds to reveal a different image and accompanying text segment. Each page features the confrontation between Autobots and a Decepticon.

The story box on the Decepticon part lines up, so the plot can be read in a mix-and-matched fashion. The art lines up well, though there's a few fudges. The book advertises more than 200 possible combinations.

Synopsis

[edit]
If all the segments for each of the book's seven trisected pages are lined-up with their "correct" counterparts, Transformers: Dark of the Moon Mix & Match is a very loose retelling of the Dark of the Moon movie . However, the activity book's nature encourages the shuffling of story elements. Characters can be placed in situations wherein they would not normally be present in other iterations of the film's plot. In doing so, and ignoring the conventional "front-to-back" reading structure if the reader is so inclined, an entirely new version of the story can be created.
Top Segment Middle Segment Bottom Segment
At the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, Ratchet faces Shockwave who is trying to steal a fuel cell from the Ark.
On the highway, Mirage changes to robot mode to fight Crowbar, and his companions Hatchet and Crankcase.
In Washington, D.C., Bumblebee accepts the challenge to defend the National mall from Megatron as he rises from the mist with his Ion Cannon in hand.
While jet fighters fly overhead, Wheeljack comes up with a plan to defend the city against Starscream who advances to attack the NEST soldiers.
Laserbeak shrieks as Leadfoot and the other Wreckers fight Soundwave who uses powerful vibrations to reduce the city to rubble.
Cybertron looms in the sky over Optimus Prime wields his Energon Axe and challenges Sentinel Prime who stands atop the remains of the serpentine drill.

Errors

[edit]
  • In a bit of a design oversight, the page that depicts the Wreckers, the middle segment of the page mentions the Wreckers in the text, but Topspin and Roadbuster appear in the portion of the illustration in the top segment, while Steeljaw appears in the bottom segment. In most combinations with this middle segment, the Wreckers are thus mentioned, but do not show up in the illustration!
  • Prime's top segment is worded in such a way that it doesn't fit well with any of the middles, including his own.
