Nature is a beautiful and dangerous place, sometimes both at the same time.

Synopsis

[edit]

Optimus Primal is concerned about Tigatron's 'lone tiger wolf' tendencies, so he sends Airazor to talk to him. Soaring across the skies, the Maximal falcon soon locates Tigatron. Tigatron isn't swayed by her and Primal's concerns, however, and merely tells her he enjoys living alone in harmony with the beautiful wilderness around him.

Inspired, Airazor decides to try out some of that "living in harmony with the wilderness" thing as well. Unfortunately for her, she keeps running into hazards such as a poisonous mushroom, a lake emitting toxic gas, and a gigantic carnivorous plant, requiring Tigatron to save her every time. This culminates when Airazor loudly exclaims her appreciation of a snowy mountain, the echoes of her voice accidentally setting off an avalanche. The two Maximals immediately book it, and Airazor airlifts Tigatron to safety barely a moment before the deluge of snow buries him alive. Viewing nature from high above the sky sparks a new appreciation of Airazor in Tigatron, and he expresses his belief that they will be able to get together well... right until a volcano erupts and sets fire to Airazor's tail. Both Maximals scream in panic and terror as they streak off into the distance, Airazor trailing a plume of black smoke.

Notes

[edit]

Transformers references

[edit]
  • Tigatron and Airazor both debut in this issue with character designs based on their advertised toys as is Oda's wont, albeit down to increasingly subtle details like kibble proportions and minor scribing details due to the higher baseline for show accuracy in contemporary Beast Wars figures.
  • It probably bears remarking that Airazor is a woman in Go! Go!, as she is in the Japanese dub of the blockbuster live-action film this comic exists to promote, the War for Cybertron Trilogy cartoon, and pretty much all twenty-first century Japanese media not nostalgia-baiting the famously gender-swapped dub of the original Beast Wars cartoon.
  • This issue gives us our first clean look at the exterior of the Maximal base, confirming it is indeed a version of the Axalon spaceship from the original Beast Wars cartoon, albeit parked perfectly intact as opposed to the crash landing of the cartoon.
