Licca Kayama is a human and/or doll from [[wikipedia:{{#if:|:}}Licca-chan|{{#if:||Licca-chan}}]].
If Barbie was hiding nunchucks in her knickers.

Licca Kayama (香山リカ Kayama Rika), better known as Licca-chan (リカちゃん), is a bright, energetic fifth-grader. She is half-French and half-Japanese, and is a skilled ballet dancer. More sinister, however, is her ability to perform the "Licca Turn" technique, which allows her to drain the life from others into herself. Licca can even perform this move while holding an opponent, thereby hugging the life out of them.

She also apparently sells ice cream.

Notes

[edit]
  • The Licca-chan line of fashion dolls began in 1967 and is one of Takara's longest-running and most successful franchises, though it would take almost 60 years for the toyline to reach North America in 2026. Licca's in-game appearance in DreamMix TV is specifically based on the toy's fourth-generation design, which has been active since 1987; all of Licca's alternate costumes are also based on real fourth-generation Licca-chan dolls.
  • Licca's Library profile image in DreamMix TV World Fighters is a photograph of the original fourth-generation doll.
  • Licca does not technically "fight" in DreamMix TV World Fighters, per a mandate from Takara's higher-ups that she not be allowed to engage in direct violence, so her moves are all dance techniques that just happen to damage opponents instead.<ref name="TurnAttack">Hudson Digital Express Vol. 7</ref>
  • Licca became somewhat infamous among DreamMix TV World Fighters players for being rather overpowered, particularly her "Licca Turn" attack. Even members of the development staff have admitted she was a bit imbalanced compared to the rest of the cast.<ref name="TurnAttack"/>
  • A short animated film based on the concurrent Super Doll Licca-chan toyline was packaged alongside a Microman short film and the Beast Wars episode "Cutting Edge" for the 1999 Summer Toei Anime Fair.
  • Pierre and Olie, Misha Miramond's deceased parents in the Energon cartoon, are named after Licca's parents, Pierre (ピエール) and Orie (織江).
  • Surprisingly, DreamMix TV World Fighters was not Licca's first fighting game appearance. She appeared as a guest character in the Takara-published [[wikipedia:{{#if:|:}}Battle Arena Nitoshinden|{{#if:||Battle Arena Nitoshinden}}]], under the name "Rika".
