I-QUEUE goes over a different Beast War, and the life of Maximal commander Big Convoy.

Synopsis

[edit]

While the Beast Wars between the Maximals under Optimus Primal and the Predacons under Megatron are the most famous, there are many more Beast Wars in the multiverse. Thus, I-QUEUE decides to go over some of these more obscure Beast Warriors, starting with the those serving under or encountered by Maximal commander Big Convoy.

A. This Transformer had a jellyfish as their alternate mode. Who are they? A. Dead End B. Claw Jaw C. Rage D. Ikard

B. Which Transformer found the Byakurēn cult and turned into a giant polar bear? A. Kuma Kinkin B. Polar Claw C. Ursa Magnus D. Icebird

C. Which of the rookies serving under Big Convoy hopes to one day join the Convoy Council, and continues to study even while working in personal affairs and supply management? A. Break B. Stampy C. Heinrad D. Longrack

D. What other name does Cohrada go by? A. Cobrarge B. Night Viper C. Coil Crusher D. Spittor

E. Which entity disguised himself as the mysterious "Black Ball" in order to trick the Maximals and Predacons into searching for the Angolmois Capsules? A. The Fallen B. Logos Prime C. Unicron D. Majin Zarak

I-QUEUE then goes over the history of Big Convoy. In some universes, he was a high-ranking Maximal with extremely asocial tendencies. In an attempt to help him become less introverted, the Convoy Council assigned him as the commander of a squad of rookies. In these universes, he's nicknamed the "One-Man Army," due to both his isolationism and his great strength and power. In other universe, Big Convoy was originally an alien mammoth named Big, evolved into a Transformer by the "Divine Stone," which was secretly an Angolmois Capsule. Big suffered mortal wounds when trying to save Lio Convoy, and to repay him, Lio healed him with his Energon Matrix. This sped up Big's evolution, and turned him into a Convoy-Class Transformer.

Notes

[edit]

Transformers references

[edit]
  • Rage's story was seen in Beast Wars Neo text story "To Jellyfish with Love! Cry Out, Stampy Blade", and is illustrated with a panel of her from Beast Wars Neo comic issue #6 (art by Shōji Imaki). The other answers include Dead End, the Predacon ammonite from Beast Wars Neo; Claw Jaw, a Maximal squid from the second year of the Beast Wars toyline; and Ikard, a redeco of Claw Jaw from Beast Wars II.
  • Kuma Kinkin's story was seen in Beast Wars Neo text story "Break Through! The Polar Bear Raging Claw Fist!", and is illustrated with an image from said text story (art by Shōji Imaki). Other options include Polar Claw, a Maximal polar bear from the first year of the Beast Wars toyline; Ursa Magnus, the original character of the fan with the same name, who was slipped into the background of "Invasion Prologue"; and Icebird, a Mutant who has a polar bear as one of his beast modes.
  • D is the correct answer for question C. The image used to illustrate this question is a screencap of Heinrad, Stampy, Big Convoy, and Longrack from the Beast Wars Neo episode "Mirage of the Sand".
  • Cobrarge is the correct answer for question D, as seen in Beast Wars Neo text story "What Became of the Five...." The other answers include Night Viper, a Maximal cobra from Beast Machines; Coil Crusher (see "real-world references" below); and Spittor, a Predacon frog from the second year of the Beast Wars toyline. The question is illustrated with a sticker of Colada from a Japanese Beast Wars Neo guidebook, which was (and is) the mainpic for Colada's TFWiki entry.
  • Unicron disguised himself as the Black Ball in the Beast Wars Neo comic, illustrated here with a panel from the first issue (art by Shōji Imaki). The other choices include the Fallen, an evil member of the Thirteen; Logos Prime, a lesser known evil member of the Thirteen and main antagonist of the Beast Wars Reborn text stories; and Majin Zarak, an evil monster from "Lio Convoy in Imminent Danger!".
  • The trivia bonus this issue goes over Big Convoy and his various origins from both the anime and the manga. The question is illustrated with a piece of art of Big Convoy, recolored from a promotional image for Ultra Mammoth (pencils and inks by Dan Khanna, colors by Evan Gauntt); a screencap from Beast Wars Neo episode "Mach Kick Voluntarily Enlists!?" with Big Convoy ordering Mach Kick, Stampy, Colada, Heinrad, Break, and Longrack; and a panel of Big from the Beast Wars II comic epilogue (art by Shōji Imaki).
